The most important thing I have learnt on my journey is that i am worth doing this! My own happiness is my ultimate reward, and nothing can wipe the smile from my face. I never deprived myself from anything so I never felt as though I was going without. Absolutely everything........in moderation.
Before
After
I changed my lifestyle in the following ways:
Here's what I did:
My exercise regime is a crucial part of my success. I religiously exercise 3 days per week as well as an extra session when I can. My food portions were changed dramatically as now I weigh everything that goes on my plate (even now im a LTM). My partner and family are extremely supportive and do all they can to help me continue to be successful.
Weight loss isn't just about me, it also impacted the people around me.
My friends and family are so supportive of my success. They are aware of how much happier I am and how much healthier I am. I have had a few friends join weight watchers after seeing how successful I was on my journey. Its amazing watching them now complete their own dream journey.
Motivation kept me going!
I was actually never big on regularly rewarding myself. I was losing weight and battling my demons along the way. That kept me motivated as well as volunteering at my meetings to also have the chance to help others on their journeys.
There are things I can do now that I could never do before
Mmmm apart from wearing a size 12!!!! I can now jog for approx 1.2km. Ive never been a runner before and this achievement still amazes me! I am much fitter than I have ever been before and im still in shock at the size of the clothes I can fit into.
Losing weight is not always a serious business
I went away at Easter 2011 after getting to goal. We always go to this place and I know the owners very well. This time however the owner didnt recognise me!!!! I said hello to her and unfortunately it wasnt till my fiance walked through the door that it clicked to her who I was! Certainly made my day.
